Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dear Arrival (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Site”) handles information when you visit deararrival.com. We’ve written it in plain English. If anything here is unclear, contact us via the Contact page.

The short version

Dear Arrival is a content website that publishes baby gift recommendations. We collect very little personal information. Specifically:

  • We use basic web server logs (standard for every website on the internet)
  • We use cookies to make the site work properly and to remember settings
  • We use third-party services that may collect information about your visit (such as affiliate networks and Google services, when implemented)
  • We do not sell your personal information
  • We do not require you to create an account
  • We do not collect payment information of any kind

Information we collect

Information you give us directly

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you wrote in the message. We use this only to respond to you and keep a record of the conversation.

If, in the future, Dear Arrival adds a newsletter signup or contact form, we’ll update this policy to describe what’s collected and how it’s used.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our web server (Hostinger) automatically logs:

  • Your IP address (a numerical identifier assigned to your internet connection)
  • The pages you visit and when
  • The website that referred you to ours, if any
  • Your browser type and operating system
  • Whether your visit resulted in any errors

This information is standard for all websites and is used to keep the Site running, diagnose technical problems, and protect against abuse (such as hacking attempts).

We also use the Wordfence security plugin, which may log IP addresses of visitors who trigger security rules (for example, repeated failed login attempts). This data is used only to protect the Site.

Cookies

The Site uses cookies, which are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We use cookies for:

  • Essential functions — keeping the Site working properly (for example, remembering whether you’ve dismissed a notice)
  • Caching — making pages load faster by storing certain elements locally
  • Affiliate tracking — when you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer typically sets a cookie that lets them credit Dear Arrival with the referral if you make a purchase

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site may not work correctly if you do.

Third-party services

Dear Arrival uses or may use the following third-party services. Each of these services has its own privacy practices that we don’t control.

Affiliate networks and partner retailers

When you click an affiliate link on Dear Arrival, you’re taken to a partner retailer’s website (such as Amazon, Kyte Baby, or other baby brands). The retailer may set tracking cookies to credit Dear Arrival for the referral and to remember your shopping cart. Whatever you do on that retailer’s site is governed by the retailer’s privacy policy, not ours.

Affiliate networks currently in use (or that may be added) include Amazon Associates, ShareASale, and direct brand programs. See the Affiliate Disclosure page for the current list.

Hosting and security

The Site is hosted by Hostinger, which receives standard server log information when you visit. We use Wordfence, a WordPress security plugin, to protect against attacks. Wordfence’s security checks may share threat data with Defiant, Inc. (Wordfence’s parent company).

Analytics (when implemented)

Dear Arrival may add Google Analytics or a similar analytics service in the future to understand how the Site is used. If we do, we’ll update this policy to describe what’s collected and what your options are for opting out. As of the date this policy was last updated, no analytics service is active.

How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

  • Operate and maintain the Site
  • Respond to messages you send us
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Improve the Site (for example, by identifying broken pages or slow-loading content)

We do not use the information we collect to build advertising profiles, retarget you on other websites, or sell to data brokers.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share information in the following limited situations:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Site (such as our hosting provider) may have access to information in the course of providing their services. They are obligated to use it only for that purpose.
  • Legal requirements — if we receive a valid legal request (subpoena, court order) requiring us to disclose information, we may comply.
  • Protection of rights — we may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect Dear Arrival’s rights, our safety, or the safety of others.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

For everyone

  • You can ask what information we have about you
  • You can ask us to delete information we have about you
  • You can opt out of communications from us at any time

For California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have additional rights, including:

  • The right to know what personal information is collected about you
  • The right to delete personal information collected from you
  • The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we don’t sell personal information, so this right is automatically respected)
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights

For EU/UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing.

How to exercise your rights

To exercise any of these rights, email us via the Contact page. We’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

Children’s privacy

Dear Arrival is intended for adults shopping for baby gifts. The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention

We retain server logs for approximately 30 days. Emails you send us are retained for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and maintain a reasonable customer service record (typically up to 2 years). Wordfence security logs are retained according to Wordfence’s default settings (typically 30–90 days).

International data transfers

Dear Arrival is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, the information described in this policy may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced on the Site’s homepage. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
